Rs 1000 per month for school boys - Expansion of Tamil Pudhalvan scheme across TN now!!

In order to expand the Tamil Pudhalvan scheme in the current academic year to benefit 3.28lakh students, the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Dept has sanctioned Rs 360cr.
It is superb to note that under the scheme boys studying in the classes 6 to classes12 in the government schools would receive Rs 1000 per month. It must be remembered that in June 2022, the CM of TN Mr. MK. Stalin launched the Pudhumai Penn scheme for the girl students studying in the classes 5 to 12 in the government schools. The success of Pudhumai Penn scheme made the TN govt to launch Tamil Pudhalvan scheme for the boys.
The main aim of providing Rs 1000 per month under the Tamil Pudhalvan scheme would be to encourage the boys to complete their school studies instead of dropping midway. The scheme would also help the boys to pursue higher education also.
It was mentioned by the circular from the school education dept that the higher education needs of the students would be met by Tamil Pudhalvan scheme. This would increase the GER or Gross Enrollment Rate of TN. It is noteworthy that the Pudhumai Penn scheme was successful and this made the TN govt to extend the scheme to aided schools across TN also. The superb piece of information is that the Pudhumai Penn scheme has been helpful to 6lakh girl students in TN.
The Rs 1000 amount given per month was a good amount for low income families and this was according to a parent of a govt school student.
