Tamil Nadu Government Mandates Use of Tamil in All Official Communication
In a significant step to promote the Tamil language, the Tamil Nadu government has announced that all Government Orders (GOs), circulars, and official communications will henceforth be issued only in Tamil.
This directive applies to all government departments and offices across the state. The government has stated that official correspondence, including responses to public letters, petitions, and feedback, must be written exclusively in Tamil.
In addition, government employees are now required to sign all official documents in Tamil, further reinforcing the importance of using the native language in all administrative operations.
This move aims to preserve and strengthen the usage of Tamil in government functioning and make official communication more accessible to the public.
