The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, has forecasted heavy rains in isolated areas of Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukkottai, Kanniyakumari, and Karaikal, with light to moderate showers in parts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, on Saturday. Weather experts caution that this lull isn’t the end of the northeast monsoon, as widespread, active rainfall is expected from November 11-18.
According to weather blogger K Srikanth from *Chennai Rains*, the delay is due to a low-pressure area forming off Sri Lanka’s coast. Pradeep John, known as the Tamil Nadu Weatherman, confirmed that Saturday will be a break day, except for isolated rains in some delta districts and Kanniyakumari.
