The historic Santhanavalambi Srimat Santhana Sivacharya Temple in Anna Nagar, Chennai, is set to host its Maha Samprokshanam on April 20, 2025 (Sunday), from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
With a rich legacy of over 700 years, the temple has seen various idols installed in the names of Senthu, Thittivakkam, Thirunavukkarasar, and Thambiran Keetaka Santhana Sivacharya. In recent times, structural damages to the mandapams, Rajagopuram, and Pakshanam have prompted a major renovation.
The restoration, including the construction of a 12½-foot high Rajagopuram, is being undertaken at an estimated cost of ₹1.5 crore. Upgrades include painting, decorations, and new facilities such as RO water, electricity, drainage, emergency rooms, night lighting, and devotional amenities.
Additional arrangements like food stalls and resting shelters are being set up for devotees during major festivals, ensuring a comfortable experience for all attendees.
