Police Department Warning for ATM card usage

Chennai Police have cautioned the ATM card users to be very alert & careful!
The details:
- Change the secret code number frequently.
- Do not inform about the card CVV number & the secret code number to anybody.
- Ensure that the facility to receive SMS from the bank immediately after withdrawal of cash.
- If you face any problem in withdrawing cash, please do not seek others’ (strangers) help.
- Check thoroughly whether any device is fitted close to the card insertion slot.
- If you find that some device is fitted, don’t use the ATM.
- If there is no need, do not get ATM cards for world-wide use.
- Please do not give the ATM card to the service assistants at Petrol Bunks, Hotels, or Supermarkets.
- If you detect any abnormal cash transactions in your ATM, block the card immediately.
- If you get any call from some persons to be bank customer service personnel telling about exchange with new ATM cards or any loan facility and ask for card secret details, please don’t give them
- Please remember! Even the banks never ask for CVV number and other important secret details from their customers!
