Induction of Walkalators may Cause Battery Cars Disappear at Chennai Airport The battery cars may soon go off from the Chennai International Airport, due to the induction of the Walkalators.

This battery driven golf-carts, which is a free ride that ferry passengers amid both terminals will be even more painful for nearly thousands of passengers at the airport during this summer. Soon this service will get muted.

The senior official of the Carrieall Car Pvt. Ltd, the organization that drives this service stated that, we have been withdrawn this free golf-cart service because of few reasons including:

• Monthly Rental plan rise from Rs.10,000 to Rs.11,000

• Annoyance by the few officials of the Airports Authority of India (AAI)

Moreover, we lost the ad for our carts, which is the chief source of our income. Hence we decided to pull out this service, stated the senior official.

These carts carry commuters between the departure lobbies of new domestic & international terminals and also

from the new domestic influx hall to the elevator (lift) which seizes the travelers to new international exit hallway.

The plan on installing Escalators will be getting delayed for several reasons, the enduring Chennai Metro Rail work around the airport premises prevails one among them. Soon the tenders will be called for and work be commenced soon, stated AAI official.
