With the lok Sabha election works taking place in full swing, the Election Commission has now come up with the list of alternative documents that can be shown to cast vote during this election in case of lost or non-availability of your voter ID. This evening, the final list of candidates will be announced by the EC and just 12 days are left for the election to take place here.

Initially, EC mandated the need to have voter id or booth slip for being an authenticated voter. However they have now come up with a list of 12 other documents out of which any one is enough for being eligible to vote. Below is the list:
  • Passport
  • Driving license
  • Central or state government employee id
  • Bank passbook with photo
  • PAN card
  • Aadhar card
  • Smart card with photo
  • Mahathma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme Card
  • Medical policy card with photo
  • Pension book
  • Booth slip
  • Voter id
