T N RECORDS MORE STUDENT SUICIDE CASES

National Crime records Bureau Statistics have reported that there have been 258 suicide cases registered in Tamilnadu in 2008. This indicates marginal increase by 9 more than the figure of 249 in 2007.
Thanks
to various awareness programme and prevailing of goof counseling in Chennai
the case of such occurrence dip from 226 suicide cases in 2006 to 117 in 2007
and 77 in 2208. According to R Sathyanathan, Director of the Institute of
mental health in Ayanavaram this kind of
cases reflect the cultural upbringing of the children by Parents
and stressed by the pressures from
School or self inflicted. Fear to face
failure is the main cause that push children to
resort to this emotional decision.
