On Wednesday evening Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju reviewed on the ongoing arrangements in Tirumala to meet summer pilgrim rush which is soon to commence.
Reviewing the arrangements with the heads of various departments at Annamaiah Bhavan he said, the summer rush is expected to commence by this week end and may peak after April 15 as the tenth class examinations will be over in the state. “This year we have been witnessing high temperatures and so necessary coolant arrangements needs to be made for the visiting pilgrims to provide them relief from scorching temperatures”, he added.
He directed the engineering officials to erect pandals wherever necessary in the waiting queue lines. “Provide the shades with Cuscus mats in Rs.300, footpath queue lines etc and water them continuously”, he instructed.
The JEO also directed the Annaprasadam and Health department officials to provide food and water round the clock to the pilgrims. “Also keep excess stock of laddus during this summer season”, he instructed Potu officials. He has directed the Health officer to lay mats all along the four-mada streets, open areas where pilgrim movement is more and water them round the clock as a part of relief measure.
The JEO instructed the EDP department to make arrangements that there will not be any troubleshooting in the computer network system. He also alerted the Electric department officials to see that there is no interruption in power supply. He asked the officials to make use of the services of scouts and srivari sevakulu during the peak summer season.
The JEO also instructed to prepare a pamphlet on some precautionary measures to be followed by the pilgrims to survive from sun stroke and over heat. He directed the medical department to keep enough stock of glucose to meet emergency cases. He asked the forest department officials to fill the cement water tanks along the ghat roads with water for the sake of animals which usually come out of the forests during peak summer.
CVSO Sri G Srinivas, Suptd Engineer Sri Ramesh Reddy, ACVSO Sri Sivakumar Reddy and other officials were also present.
