Brainstorming Ideas for Safe Roads - From Public Sources!

People are welcomed to serve their brilliant ideas in bringing your city secure and triumph attractive prices value of Rs.3 Lakhs!

This is an innovative step taken up by the two private establishments namely, Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a global safety science enterprise, and Ashoka, an international network of social industrialists to gather ideas from the common public to keep the city in safe hands.

As the residents have better knowledge about their locality, we involved in collecting enhancement tips to make their cities safer. Also even the ideas from one city may exercise well fit for the other metro, stated R.A. Vengatachalam, vice-president of people safety mission, UL.

People can give their active participation in the ‘Safer Roads, Safer India’ competition by furnishing their ideas on:
  • Active citizenship , an inventive alertness campaigns and road safety edification
  • Technology, like  GPS and smart phones
  • Policy and Governance , by enhancing passerby response and signifying alterations in Motor Vehicles Act
Smart urban designs, including  pedestrian facilities, public transport  and so on.

Best six ideas will be chosen based on the innovation, impact, ease of implementation and sustainability. Selection will be by Dinesh Mohan, Henry Ford lecturer for biomechanics and transportation safety, Indian Institute of Technology-New Delhi.
