CMDA Facing New Complications – Cases Filled by Rentals

Posted on: 25/Apr/2014 3:29:08 PM

Due to sudden cases filed by rentals over buildings with violating rules, all the actions of Chennai Metropolitan Development Authoritative (CMDA) have been paralyzed.

Counts of unauthorized buildings have been mounting across Chennai. CMDA can very well take actions on those buildings which have been furnished on or before 2007 and there is no hindrance for it.

Even though, CMDA is not showing much interest in taking actions against these buildings. If it all CMDA takes actions, the building owners are one step ahead in getting check against it by approaching the high court. Only in few cases, high court is providing judgment in taking actions against these buildings.

Building owners are following new measures, in blocking CMDA actions against their unauthorized buildings.

Regarding these measures below is the report given by the CMDA senior officer:

An unauthorized building in Madipakkam has been sealed by the High Court, in favor of case filled by CMDA. But the building owners, requested to open the building for maintenance. High court gave its acceptance.

But instead of maintenance work, owners rent it for the private sectors. And now, this private sector is casting the case against CMDA.

Many similar cases have been on road including Vellachery, Guindy, R.A.Puram, and Pallavaram and so on. CMDA requests Government interference to assist them.
