Subsequent to the recent bomb blast at the Chennai Central Railway Station, Security has been strengthened at all important locations in Chennai city. Egmore Railway Station & Ripon building have been posted with additional security.
There are 2 entrances for the public in Ripon Building. Now, only one entrance is used to allow public to enter the building. Only vehicles are permitted in the other entrance.
The security guards at the entrance check all the visitors thoroughly and then only allow them to enter.
Apart from the corporation employees, all other visitors have to register their names and other details in the register before being allowed to enter the building.
All the vehicles entering Ripon building are checked thoroughly before being allowed to enter. The latest surveillance camera has been installed in Ripon Building. One camera monitors the entry from Poonamallee High Road. Another camera is installed at the front part of the building.
Similar arrangements have been Koyambedu city bus terminus. Metal detectors have been installed to check the passengers before allowing them to enter. A surveillance camera has installed where all city buses are parked to monitor the movements.
Additional Armed Police have been deployed in Koyambedu inter-city bus terminus.
A metal detector has been installed at the entrance of the Egmore Museum to check & monitor the visitors.
