Leak in valve, Drinking water Gushed out – Manali Road, Korukupet

On Tuesday, Owing to the ooze in the pipeline which carries drinking water to the uptown vicinity in the area, quite a lot litre of water has been wasted in Manali Road, Korukupet.

Water wasted out of the valve on the Manali Road and streamed on to the adjoining streets in Karumariamman nagar and Kannagi nagar. Residents complain the officials that water has been leaking out for the past one week.

Water leakage is more prominent continuously for more than one hour every day, during the morning timings. The leaking water will flow towards the close by storm water drainage and stand still on the streets of the Karumariamman nagar and arid by the afternoon, says S.M. Parasuraman, a resident of the Karumariamman nagar.
Even though steps have been taken up by the corporation staffs in fixing the problem, but for the great disappointment of the residents, the leak has been enduring, he added.

Most of the residents of this area entirely depend on pipeline water and also on the tankers water supplied by the Chennai Metrowater, for their daily requirements. 

Work is underway for repairing the leak in the pipeline of the drinking water valve on the Ezhil Nagar, said the sources in the Metrowater. Taps are preset at recurrent distances in pipelines to control and facilitate balanced section of water to several residential settings.
