Central Government to give up the ‘Aadhar Card’ scheme?

It is gathered that the central government has decided to give up the ;’Aadhar Card’ scheme.

The newly elected government under Mr. Narendra Modi is in serious consultations whether to continue or drop the ‘Aadhar Card’ scheme.

The central Home Minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh conducted a special meeting at the Census Office. It is understood that the majority were for giving up the ‘Aadhar Card’ scheme. The recommendations have been sent to the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi.

Indian Communist Party Leader, Mr. Achuthan, had informed that the National Security Agency of USA has stolen some important data gathered for ‘Aadhar Card’ scheme.

In this scenario, it is expected that the official announcement cancelling ‘Aadhar card’ scheme may be released shortly.

However, a substitute card with multi-task capability is being planned by the central government. This task might be entrusted to the Census Board and the activities for the project are set to start early.
