Even after the end of the usual summer period, Tamil Nadu has been experiencing sweltering heat over the last few weeks. The pedestrians and the vehicle drivers in the coastal areas are subjected to additional hardship wit hot air blowing across.
Now-a-days, the heat continues even after the sunset affecting the lifestyle of the people.
The meteorological board has informed that the heat will abate only in July.
The cool breeze generated from the ocean is blocked by the hot air from the West as the sweltering heat continues.
A high temperature of 102 degrees fahrenheit was recorded at Chennai, Cuddalore, and Madurai on 18th June. Above 100 degrees fahrenheit was recorded in Nagapattinam, Pondicherry, Trichy, and Tuticorin.
