Fix Up of PDS Family Card Applications Exactly within 60 Days!

We have forced the respective officials to dispose the new Public Distribution System (PDS) family cards applications within the predetermined period of 60 days, says the Minister for Food and Consumer Protection R. Kamaraj on Wednesday.

Arrangements are also facilitated to inform the application status to the applicants via SMS and e-mail.

Regarding this new scheme, Mr. Kamaraj, go together with the Principal Secretary for Food M. P. Nirmala and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Commissioner S. Gopalakrishnan, examine the offices of the Assistant Commissioner of Civil Supplies at T.Nagar and Thousand Lights.

The Minister insisted that if an application is been rejected, the reason for the rejection should be informed to the applicants via SMS and e-mail.

In the same way, applicants should receive the regular status of their applications. Also the receipt of the applications ought to be accredited via SMS or e-mail. In case of lack in getting the response from the officials, applicants can loom the appellate authorities.

PDS grievance meetings will be carry out on every second Saturday in Chennai and on second Fridays in every districts, said Mr. Kamaraj.
