There are more than ten thousands of devotees visiting Tirupathi every day to have a dharshan of the Lord Srinivasa!

This figure of the number of devotees is exceeded during festival days & holidays.

Currently, it takes anywhere between 20 hours to 30 hours for the devotees waiting in queue to have the Dharshan of the Lord! Even the devotees who buy the special Rs. 300/- ticket for a quicker Dharshan need to wait for hours in order to have the Dharshan of the Lord.

It is estimated that there are 15000 devotees buying the Rs. 300/- daily for the special and quicker Dharshan ticket. The counter for this opened only by 7.00 AM.

However, the devotees start waiting near the counter right from midnight. It is noteworthy that people who wait in the queue cannot come out! There are no facilities in the queue arrangement even to attend nature’s calls.

TTD (Thirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam) Board has proposed a change in the Dharshan process.

The timing of the Dharshan will now be printed on the ticket. The ticket buyers will have to at Vaikuntam -1 lane as per the time printed on their tickets. They will be immediately allowed to proceed to have a Dharshan of the Lord. They can relax till the time as printed in the ticket. If time permits, they may even visit other temples.

Once the software for this process is completed and tested successfully, this will be brought into effect.
