More bodies have been recovered from the rubble of a collapsed building in India`s southern city of Chennai, taking the death toll to 61, with rescue operations still under way Thursday.
The unfinished 11-storey building caved in on Saturday, trapping mostly construction workers who had gathered in the building to collect their pay.
A National Disaster Response Force team has been leading rescue work using gas cutters, iron rods and shovels after cranes lifted concrete blocks to get to the survivors. Rescue work is continuing in full swing.
