As the storage level in more than thirty reservoirs face a dip unlike past ten years, people in southern states including Tamil Nadu are facing trouble in getting their thirst quenched. Data from central water commission states these reservoirs have lesser levels of water by 9 per cent. These reservoirs include the ones in Andhra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The overall capacity of these reservoirs is 51.37 billion cubic meters. However, the present level of water is just 6.58 BCM.
