Income-tax payers PAN Account holders to receive information on SMS from IT offices!

The Central Government’s Direct Taxes Department has been taking various steps for the benefit of the tax payers.
Payment of refunds after filing income tax returns to the Bangalore Income Tax compilation office, passing information about the current status of files, and other services are currently provided.
SMS & E-mail services are to be introduced shortly to know about the latest status of the income tax files for refunds.
An IT official informed that these steps are taken in order to help the individuals filing income tax returns and to be in regular contact with the individual.
It is important to note that the individuals filing income-tax returns for the current year MUST enter their e-mail & mobile phone numbers in the form.
