Tamil Nadu state government minister, Mr. P. Mohan, announced that a special concession has been given to those who have failed to renew their employment exchange registration over the last 3 years.
During the debate on rural industry & Employee welfare subsidy, the rural development minister informed:
As per the directive from the Chief Minister, a special concession has been given to those who failed to renew their employment registration during 2011, 12 &13. They can renew their registration and maintain their seniority and avail the job opportunities. About 1 Lakh individuals are expected to benefit from this concession.
For those individuals who have registered in the non-union employee welfare boards, this concession has been extended from 3 years to 5 years.
The workers from the rapidly growing construction industry can also register in the employment exchange and become members. All categories of construction employees can benefit from this. They will be given training on health & awareness.
12 government-run training centres will open training sections for trades with good job potential such as welder, electrician, wireman, a/c mechanic, etc will be opened.
The training centres in Nagercoil & Ulundurpettai will start new training sections for dumb & deaf for the trade of fitter.
The eligible age for joining the diploma course on technical teaching is raised from 40 to 50.. The age limit for women to join the training centres is removed.
Apart from the ESI medical shops already functioning, new sections will be started at Athipattu, Perungudi (Madurai), Thirunelveli suburb, Thulukkarkulam, Kondanagaram, Nanguneri suburs, and Morur.
