Chief minister J Jayalalithaa announced that a building for the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) will be constructed at Koyambedu at an estimated Rs 63.25 crore.
The new building will be constructed in an area of 1.09 lakh sq ft. It will have the latest security and other facilities. The multi-storey building will house offices of CMDA and other government departments.
Currently, CMDA functions out of a building in Chintadripet which also houses offices of public sector oil companies.
The policy note of the housing and urban development department has mentioned that work to construct an office complex at Nandanam at a cost of Rs 100 crore will be taken up under built operate and transfer mode. The proposed building will be constructed in an area of 2.75sqft.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed for the project and a private partner will be identified shortly.
