The idea was earlier looked upon with a perplexed reaction, but in the recent days, this is one of the inspiring ideas for most households. This is nothing but the idea of growing veggies on terrace and setting up of balcony gardens. With vegetable prices reaching exorbitant levels, it is indeed an easier option to cut down more on our monthly budget towards kitchen needs.

The practice of setting up garden in the terrace is quite common not only among senior citizens, but also students and office goers, as they all are in need of organic food items. Taking a deeper look at the city’s condition three years back, it is clear that there wasn’t enough awareness about organic food items. This has now grown to great extent and over 2000 families have kitchen garden set up at their kitchens. It is said, when over 500 square feet space is allocated for such a garden in their terrace, it will contribute to over 500 metric tonnes of food in a day in the city.
