People look upon for this work to get completed at the earliest so that they can have a lifeline in the northern parts of the city. However, the 80 crore flyover project to connect central parts of the city to Sathyamurthy Nagar and Erukkanchery has always been delayed and it might not get completed within a year from now.
It is to be noted that the construction commenced in 2010 during DMK government. This then got over by March 2013.
The project has been getting delayed due to several reasons including problems in land acquisition. Motorists find it hectic to cross the junction between Sathyamurthy Nagar main road and Erukkanchery High Road junction. They say it is a nightmare for them to cross through the junction. They however say that the situation got better after laying concrete subway. Though it is not a wide road, it is wide and hence is quite convenient for travelling, said a constable.
