Poongothai Aladi Aruna , the Minister for information and Technology was
speaking at the inauguration of a ‘Change Climate Change` Coalition (CCCC)
organised at
Environmental action groups must move beyond the 3Rs of reduce, reuse and recycle to that
of reflect, rethink and request others to practice sustainability. Policies
must ensure growth does not compromise on environment. She said.
What we need now are goodwill and action. Environment day is not something to be celebrated for a day and then forgotten. Importantly sustained follow up is essential to effectively implement the planned programme of actions.
