Sethu or Assault Sethu, as widely known after ‘Jigarthanda’ rocked theatres all over is a notable and indeed a memorable character in the movies released this year. Actor Bobby Simha who played the terrific role in the movie tells about waiting for years long time to get roped in the role.

The actor is already well remembered for the mischievous role played in ‘Soodhu Kavvum’ the highlight of which is the temple he built for Nayanthara. ‘Neram’ is one other movie which showed him as a money lender.  He gathered attention from all audiences in very short time span and became a notable personality.

In a recent interview, Simha said that he volunteered himself to Karthik Subbaraj for the Madhurai based don character in ‘Jigarthanda’.

When he approached, the director thought Simha wouldn’t be able to carry the role on-screen. However, on looking at Simha’s yearning to play the character, the director agreed to fit him as Assault Sethu after the movie got finalized post release of Pizza.

Simha reminds of ‘Neram’ director Alphonse Puthiran who let the director know about Simha’s obsession with Assault Sethu role.
