Interested women candidates in the age group of 18 to 40 years can enroll
names
The Periyar Technology Business Incubator (Periyar TBI) at the Periyar
Maniammai University (PMU), Vallam, Thanjavur In partnership with the National
Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurship (NI-MSME, has announced
entrepreneurial and skill development programmes in various fields for aspiring
women, youth and graduates.
A grant-in-aid project of the National Science and Technology
Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), the Periyar TBI that came into
being on the PPP (Public Private Partnership) mode under the scheme:
Entrepreneurship Development Centres through Partner Institutions, of the
Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, has invited applications from
educated women interested in food-processing business. A four-week tailor made
programme will be offered exclusively for women graduates and diploma holders.
Resource persons will constitute experts from research and development
institutions, leading food-processing industries, and successful entrepreneurs
in the field. According to a press release from the PMU, essentials of
entrepreneurship; achievement motivation training; nuances of management of an
enterprise; identification of business opportunities; schemes of assistance
offered by various banks and departments, preparation of technically feasible
and economically viable project report, technology and finance; and processing
techniques for various food products will be taught. Candidates undergoing the
course designed by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India,
The course fee will be borne by the NSTEDB, Department of Science and
Technology.
With the training certificate, candidates can gain eligibility for bank
loans. Incubation space will be provided in the Periyar TBI, the release said.
