A rise in the minimum age for smoking!

The central government is exploring to raise the age of permission to smoke cigarettes and other tobacco items from 18 to 25.
 
The government is also mooting the possibility of not allowing the brand names to be printed on the pocket covers and introduction of penalty/fine payment for the offenders who smoke in public places.
 
The central Health Minister, Mr. Harsh vardhan has formed a committee to chart out the immediate steps to be taken to implement as per Indian Tobacco Act 2003.
