A recent information discloses that there are opportunities for children under the age 13 to register their accounts in in Google to access Gmail & YouTube.
’The Times’ has reported that Google has decided to permit the children under age 13 to access their services.
However, there will be provision for parents’ monitoring. The parents can access a detailed report on ‘dashboard’.
The technology web site, ‘The Information’ has disclosed all details on this. It has on formed that the information was obtained from reliable sources from Google Inc.
However, when contacted, Google informed that it cannot respond to rumours & guesses.
Until now, Google & Facebook have not given any permission for access by children under 13. However, indiscreet usage of social networking sites is rampant by hiding the age.
As per the US Act on Children Internet access and security, there is a restriction for children under age 13 to use them. So, this age restriction is exercised by internet services.
