The Chennai
Higher Secondary
School, Kalyanapuram, Vysarpadi seems like not
given proper attention by the Municipal administration. The school was upgraded
last year has 23 students in its first batch of 12th standard. The
teaching staff strength is so low that it does not have proper teaching staff
for 11th and 12th standard classes. The school does not have full
time Headmaster and senior teacher is officiating as Headmaster. Even though
its one month passed since the school reopened for next academic period,
teachers for 11th and 12th standard classes have not been
appointed.
It looks like a system failure somewhere as The Mayor has been working
hard to create level playing field for the Corporation Schools to compete with
the private schools. Authorities may please take due corrective measures before
it’s late for the students.
According to N.Thangaraj, coordinator, Slum Children Sports Talent
Education Development Society (SCSTEDS), who has been working in the area and
with the school, the school is a picture of complete neglect.
