Reduces intake
of 3 engineering colleges.
In case of
J A Institute of Engineering, Chennai which was raided by CBI last year, total
intake has been cut. In the case of other two colleges they have been restraint
from admitting student in certain courses.
In all
these cases the university found that the colleges were wanting in faculty
strength.
Restrictions
will not affect students admitted in previous years.

said the other three colleges, which were raided by the CBI last year - V.K.K. Vijayan Engineering College, the Sun College of Engineering and
Technology, and the P.M.R. Institute of Technology - had sent in compliance
reports but their cases for admitting students
would be decided by the All India Council for Technical Education
(AICTE).
“Most colleges to which notices were issued have sent in compliance reports” he said.Students are advised to look for University affiliation, NBA accreditation and AICTE approval of the college and for the individual courses before taking a decision to join a college.
