Chennaites have come forward to get their city cleaned as they’ve all got into the civic movement to clean city roads in 90s. As there is a delay in closing dump yards at Pallikarai and Kodingaiyur since a long time, for nearly 4 years, a union of volunteers has planned to give helping hands to the civic body by clearing out the mess.

A private sanitation service provider, Ramky Enviro and a group of NGO research organization, City Systain, together are set ready to launch a pilot project next month. According to the project, disposal of waste items in zone 13 will get decentralized. The zone includes areas like Guindy, Velachery, Adyar, Thiruvanmyur and Annamalaipuram.

Manufacturing companies requiring plastic items for generating high operational temperatures will be sought and a tie-up will be made with such giant manufacturers. Plastics collected will then be used for firing up the plants together with the use of coals.
