Study: sixty per cent of income is spent by Indians

In a recent study on the expenditure of Indians, it is found that 60 per cent of what is earned by Indians is spent. And the remaining 40 per cent is used for investment or savings purpose, say the study results.

The result also states that 7 out of 10 Indians seek for information about investment at least once in a month. Furthermore, out of 60 per cent money that is spent, the majority falls on provisions, vegetables and other materials required for daily needs.

People spend nearly Rs 4,60,000 every year. Next to their daily needs, money is spent more towards education for children. 9 out of 10 Indians state that they give priority for their children’s education. And, 7 out of 10 Indians state that they strive to give the best education for their children, say the study result.
