Free laptop has helped elevate technical skills of students

There was a survey conducted by a private company here in Chennai. According to the survey results, 8 out of 10 students in Chennai and Madurai and completely happy and satisfied with the quality of laptops given out by the Tamil Nadu government.

It is also said that all the students have shown significant improvement in their technical and academic skills.

The survey was made by IMRB international, and it was sponsored by Intel. The survey results were announced by state IT Secretary T.K. Ramachandran at the Digital India Summit 2014 which was organized by ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu.

The survey aimed at determining how impactful was the free laptop scheme of Tamil Nadu government, and how far it has helped students in building their technical skill and attitude towards usage of laptop.

The survey was carried out at 5 arts and science colleges located in Chennai and Madurai. The results state that nearly half of the total population of girl students in these colleges spend more of their time with laptop out of which 75 per cent population spend time on it mainly for educational purpose.
