Government of Tamil Nadu has ordered all schools throughout Tamil Nadu to set a new format for question papers set for students from 1st Standard to 8th Standard.
There was a meeting conducted yesterday by the State Educational research training Centre regarding setting of new formats for questions papers.
As a first step, the teachers/lecturers of primary education centres were given training how to check the proficiency in Tamil by setting new questions.
They will, in turn, train all students of teachers; training institutes, teachers who attend refresher courses, and graduate teachers to learn about setting new format question papers.
Particularly, the teachers attending to students fro 1st Standard to 8th Standard will be given training for setting these new format question papers. Training was given how to set new type question in testing Tamil proficiency. Presently, the set of questions in Tamil languages tests mostly pertain to proficiency in Tamil literature.
The new format should be able to check the specking & writing proficiency. Training was given for the methods for inculcating this sort of learning approach and how to set question papers accordingly.
Presently, training is being given about changing the existing format of question papers in Tamil. Seminars & training sessions will be conducted as to how to introduce new formats of questions for the other subject as well.
