Tired of arguing with auto drivers in the city? Well, be ready to argue with them in English from now. As a step for ‘Joy of Giving Week’, auto drivers will not be taught English for free.
This is said to be one of the key campaigns this year. The program will be held between 2nd and 8th October. According to a volunteer from Daan Utsav, the city is turning more of a cosmopolitan one and hence it is really difficult to survive without English. So, it will be of great help if auto drivers and vegetable hawkers are taught with the language. Of course, they will be taught how to deal with bargainers and how to demand for Rs 10 extra.
In addition, plans are on to conduct a campaign to collect Re 1 per family. The collected money will be contributed to poor families who live without even a roof. The fund will also be used to conduct sports camp for children who are from lower strata of the society.
