CMRL returns parks, restoration fund too

Chennai Metro Rail Limited has an updated to cheer all Chennaites. CMRL has now come forward to return all parks that it obtained earlier for construction. Further, these parks will also be given the necessary fund for restoration.

The corporation has already handed over a park at Ashok Nagar. Corporation officials say the restoration work was started last week. The corporation is now about to start the work of submitting an estimation to the metro rail. This will be used to return funds to the parks. The overall estimation is about Rs 40 lakh. This process of restoration is set to get completed in another three months time.

·         Thiru-Vi-Ka park in Shenoy Nagar

·         Nehru Park, Poonamallee High road

·         May Day park in Chindadripet

Above are three of the other parks yet to be restored

People all around have welcomed this move by the city corporation. Speaking to V Ravichandran, founder chairman of the NGO Citizen Guardians, he says it is a good move to restore Ashok Nagar park which is wide-spread across 1st and 4th avenues.
