The bail application enquiry of Jayalalithaa & 4 others has been postponed till Monday. Karnataka High Court has ordered the Karnataka state government to respond to the bail application.

When the bail will be given?

Depending on the response of the Karnataka state government, it will be known when the bail will be given. During the enquiry, the government advocate, Mr, Bhavani Singh asked for time. Hence, the enquiry has been postponed till Monday.

Who is the government advocate?

Mr. Bhavani Singh informed that he he has not yet been permitted to continue as the government advocate. Only if the Karnataka state government permits him, he can appear in this case. Based on this, Karnataka government has been ordered to appoint the government advocate.

Ram Jethmalani’s argument

The senior advocate, Mr. Ram Jethmalani acted on behalf of Jayalalithaa . He argued that Jayalalithaa cannot continue staying in prison till a decision is taken by the Karnataka government advocate. He insisted that Jayalalithaa should be given bail due to the prevailing confusion.

Judge Order

Judge Rathnakala declared that if Jayalalithaa needs immediate bail, she can approach the High Court Chief Justice. It is understood that the enquiry on Jayalalithaa’s bail application will be taken up only if the High Court Chief Justice Orders.

What next?

Since Judge Rathnakala deferred the case till Monday, AIADMK’s advocates were upset. They are consulting whether they should approach the High Court Chief Justice. Reliable sources inform that the enquiry on bail application can be taken up even today if the order is issued by the High Court Chief Justice.

It is to be noted that Jayalalithaa, Sasikala, Sudhakaran, and Ilavarasi have been spending their 4th day in prison.
