The Golden Jubilee of Chennai Central – Bangalore City – Chennai Central Brindavan express trains was celebrated at Chennai Central railway station in the morning hours of 01.10.2014. Shri Rakesh Misra, General Manager, Southern Railway, graced the occasion by his presence.
The Brindavan express, named after the famous Brindavan Gardens in Mysore, was introduced on October 1, 1964. With remarkable punctuality, the train turned out to be the ideal choice for passengers and tourists and has served the passengers for 50 years now.
The General Manager appreciated the enthusiasm and efforts of IRFCA – the Indian Railways Fan Club – in organising this golden jubilee celebration. Also, he conducted a surprise check of the coach meant for the differently abled in Brindavan express before flagging off the train.
