Tirupathi Lord Ezhumalayan Temple will remain closed on the occasion of the Lunar Eclipse falling on 8th October. So, devotees will not be allowed for Darshan from the morning till night.
A TTD official informed:
Lunar Eclipse falls on Wednesday, 8th October. It has been a general tradition to keep the Tirupathi temple closed during the eclipse periods due to religious reasons.
As per this tradition, certain pujas and prayers will be conducted in the early morning at 4.30 Am at the Golden Gate. After this, the temple will be open for Lord’s Darshan remain close from 6.30 AM till 9.30 AM. .
After that, the devotees will be evacuated from the temple premises. All the TTD staff and the temple Puja & prayer performing staff will also get out of the temple premises.
At 10.30 AM, the main gate of the temple, known as ‘Maha Dwaram’, will be closed. Nobody will be permitted to enter the temple. The temple will remain closed till 8.00 PM in the night.
After the completion of the Lunar Eclipse, the temple will be opened after 8.00 PM. The Puja & Prayer staff will be permitted to enter the temple to perform the post-eclipse cleansing rituals. The offerings will be given to the deity.
Devotees will be permitted after 10.00 PM till 12.00 Midnight. Then, the temple will function as usual.
