Organic processed foods are likely to get freed from its export ban, as the Commerce Ministry is working on the necessary steps.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is making its best efforts to make sure that organic processed food will not have any ban for getting exported despite primitive restrictions in its production, said A.K. Tripathy, Joint Secretary of Department of Commerce and Industries during a recent event organized by Assocham.
Speaking about the prevailing scenario of lack of domestic standards, he said there is no credible domestic certification system in our country. It is the Ministry of Agriculture or any other concerned ministry that should take care of the issue, he adds.
