Income Tax payers to be removed from the Public Distribution System?

It is gathered that the central government is examining the plan to remove all income tax payers from the PDS (Public Distribution System).
Food Minister, Mr, Ram Vilas Paswan is engaged in discussions with the state governments.
When the press persons enquired about this, the minister replied that the plan would be beneficial.
With the urge to implement the Food Guarantee Scheme, it is easier to identify the list of people who pay income tax rather than attempting to identify all the poor people eligible for it.
The minister informed that consultations are going on about this. If it is implemented, PDS would benefit only the people who deserve and need it.
