Owing to illness, renowned actor SS Rajendran who was admitted in a hospital in Chennai passed away following failure of treatment. He was 86 years old.
The actor who was residing with his family in Eldams road, Teynampet fell sick few days ago. Following severe fatigue and vomiting, he was admitted in a private hospital at Mylapore. He was diagnosed with infection in intestine and was given vigorous treatment for it. His body did not respond to the treatments and hence was admitted in Intensive Care Unit and was given artificial respiration. His condition however collapsed and the soul pass away this morning.
He was a drama artist in his early days and took a leap by entering cine industry. He has starred in more than a hundred films. He was one among the leading heroes during the period of MGR and Shivaji Ganesan. He is well known for his excellence in dialogue delivery which is usually clear and majestic.
‘Parasakthi’, ‘Manogara’, ‘Ratha Kanneer’, ‘Kula Dheivam’, ‘Mudhalaali’, ‘Thai Pirandhal Vazhi Pirakkum’, ‘Sivagangai Seemai’, ‘Raja Dhesingu’, ‘Kumudham’, ‘Aalayamani’, ‘Kaanchi Thalaivan’, etc are among the films he starred in.
