City police are all geared up to improve the monitoring system with the use of CCTV cameras at all busy junctions and neighborhoods all around. The initiative was first taken by Guindy police by installing a High Definition camera in their jurisdiction. These cameras will be set up at 5 km distance from each other. All these cameras will then be linked to the monitoring unit at police stations with the use of cables from cable television distributors.

KK Nagar and Thiruvanmiyur police stations have installed such CCTV cameras so far.

Speaking to the assistant commissioner of police Guindy, Mohammed Aslam, he said six strategic places are installed with such cameras till date. This step is done with the donations we collected from the public. The cost of each of these cameras and its accessories is of the range Rs 32,000.

These cameras will then be monitored live. This will help police men take control of all the track history.
