Bank Strike on 12.11.2014 – UFBU demands Appropriate and Immediate Wage Settlement

Bank Strike on 12.11.2014 – United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) as decided earlier announced one day strike on 12th November 2014. UFBU consists of 9 Union representatives represented by its representative CH.Venkatachalam. UFBU covers 5 Staff Unions and 4 Officer Unions viz (Staff Unions – AIBEA, NCBE, BEFI, INBEF and NOBW and four Officer Associations of AIBOC, AIBOA, INBOC and NOBO). There are about 8 lakhs employees working in 27 public sector banks.
Bank Employees wage revision is pending since November 2012 and around 8 lakhs employees of various Banks is looking for the wage revision and hike in pension.
So far it was agreed by IBA for an 11% increase against unions demand of 25% hike and other benefits. It was informed through unconfirmed sources that IBA may come forward up to 19% on a final settlement.
