Smoke creates hassles to city motorists

In addition to the health ailments that the monsoon weather brings with it, the city is left irritated and annoyed due to the seasonal rainfall. Motorists find it too irksome to travel through the terrible paths. The combination of air pollution, smoke and fog dominate these roads and these are very much increasing day by day. According to the director of Sheeba Nursing Home, Jawahar Nagar (near Perambur), Dr. V. Chandrasekhar, smoke creates difficulty with breathing and leads to asthma and the resistance to all lung infections are considerably reduced. It also causes irritation in eyes. Further, the dust emitted on cement roads is not good to health.
