Railways Revenue Earnings up by 12.06 percent during April 2014 - October 2014

The total approximate earnings of Indian Railways on originating basis during 1st April 2014 to 31st October 2014 were Rs. 86595.04 crore compared to Rs. 77273.88 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 12.06 per cent.
The total approximate earnings from goods during 1st April 2014 – 31st October 2014 were Rs. 57646.68 crore compared to Rs. 51877.98 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 11.12 per cent.
The total approximate revenue earnings from passengers during 1st April 2014 – 31st October 2014 were Rs. 24716.97 crore compared to Rs. 21247.64 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 16.33 percent.
The approximate revenue earnings from other coaching amounted to Rs.2331.36 crore during April 2014 – October 2014 compared to Rs. 2187.47 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 6.58 per cent.
The total approximate numbers of passengers booked during 1st April 2014 – 31st October 2014 were 4918.57 million compared to 4965.00 million during the same period last year, showing a decrease of 0.94 per cent. In the suburban and non-suburban sectors, the numbers of passengers booked during April 2014 - October 2014 were 2664.95 million and 2253.62 million compared to 2655.67 million and 2309.33 million registering an increase of 0.35 per cent and a decrease of 2.41 per cent respectively during the same period last year.
