India is ahead of Europe in the aspect of providing free W-Fi services to the commuters visiting airports. Comparing the Wi-Fi availability in Indian airports and the ones in Europe, it is found that in Europe, only less than half a number of total biggest airports have free Wi-Fi facility, whereas most of the Indian airports have made it available, aiming to add convenience to the travelers.
New Delhi Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in India offers Wi-Fi free of cost for 45 minutes. For the following hours, users are charged Rs 99. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad receives over 5 to 15 million passengers ever year. This airport is ranked as the best airport in handling all passengers. It offers free internet to the commuters for about 30 minutes. Similarly, the Kolkata airport also provides free Wi-Fi for 30 minutes.
According to a study organized by travel search engine Skyscanner, only 48 per cent of airport sin Europe has got free Wi-Fi availability for its passengers. The two airports including Berlin Te-gel and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen do not provide free Wi-Fi at all. The busiest airport at Europe makes Wi-Fi available for free only for 45 minutes after with the user will be charged with £3 per hour.
