Ransomware – are you even aware of this term?
This is one type of malware virus which when infects your computer will restrict access to your computer. Once it locks your computer, it will demand for ransom which ought to be paid to the malware creator if the restriction wants to be removed.
This malware can be classified into two main types the first of which locks the compromised computer screen and the second one is which encrypts files.
It is observed that the cryptomalware variants overtake the existing ransomelock variants this year. Though ransomelocks look to have lost the lead to cryptomalware, they are still under existence.
Coming on to the technical support scams, these are never too new to the people. This has been making the rounds since long time. These scams claim to head from renowned software companies and try to convince the users pointing that the system is entirely error-free. This then makes use of remote access tools and enters the computer system of the victim, and targets to entice the victim to purchase fake repair tools pointing it to be of help to fix non-existing problems with the system.
