Severe earthquake in New Zealand – 6.7 in magnitude

Eastern coast of New Zealand experienced severe earthquake yesterday morning. The magnitude of this earthquake was measured as 6.7. Following this, there was immediate tsunami alerts given out by the officials.
The earthquake occurred at 10.33 am at Gisborne, New Zealand yesterday. It occurred at a distance of 200km at a depth of 35km in the sea, said geologists at America. It was experienced at from all northern to southern islands. As it occurred at a far away distance from the land area, it did not create any disaster for the people.
